What a great surprise card from Tulsa...a great card showing the map of the Route 66 Highway formerly known as the "Mother Road" Thank you Davida for this great card ..
I have only done a small part of this highway and is at the top of my list to do it all from Chicago to Los Angeles.
This card is a surprise card for me from the Postcrossing meeting held in Tulsa Oklahoma on September 15th 2018. Thank you again Davida and to all of the attendees at the meeting who signed the card .

US 66 also known as Route 66 , The Mother Road , The Main Street of America and The Will Rodgers Highway was officially named U.S 66 via a telegram at a meeting of highway officials in Springfield Missouri on April 30th 1926.
Cyrus Avery was a Tulsa businessman championed the establishment of the highway and helped him promote it earning him the nickname 'Father of Route 66" He was instrumental in the plotting of the southern Route which , conveniently , ran through Tulsa and right by his Gas Station and Hotel.
Will Rodgers was born in the Indian Territory near Claremore Oklahoma in 1879 and would later become known as Oklahomas favourite son.
