I love military history and this card shows the defence and Siege of Yorktown Virginia in 1781 also known as the Battle of Yorktown.. The card shows the earthen works constructed by Cornwallis's troops to surround and defend Yorktown., unable to hold his positions from being overun by the combined force of Continental American Army troops lead by George Washington and of French troops lead by Compte de Rochembeau. The British Army commanded and lead by Lietenant General Charles Cornwallis surrendered on October 19th 1781.making final the battles of The Revolutionary wars.
