Bandar Seri Begawan : BRUNEII : ( Journey # 1 )
This card shows The Royal Regalia Building. This is located in the city of Bandar and has a unique collection of Royal Bruneian Coronation artifacts .The Royal Building commemorates The Silver Jubilee of His Majesty's accession to the throne. I visited this exhibit/ museum on my short stay in this City.
This was a side visit from my journey north as I decided that I would fly from Kuala Lumpur to the lovely Island of Borneo. This would be a change from train travel for a short time. My first stay was in Sabah here for me there was not only lovely islands and beaches to beat the Malaysian sun and heat but also a vast Military history of Australian participation against the Japanese Army in The Second World War... with many significant places to see..also here is The Tunku Abdul Rahmen National Park with its beautiful Islands and beaches to enjoy, just a short boat ride from Kota Kinabalu the capital city in Sabah. Upon leaving Sabah I then took another flight , this time to Miri in Sarawak. both of these destinations were most enjoyable.
This was part of that trip as I traveled to Bandar by car from Miri in Sarawak. I wanted while I was in Miri to go into Kalimantan ( Indonesia ) but I ran out of time. The temperature was extremely hot in Bandar and only stayed three days..Then took a return flight to Kuala Lumpur to continue my train journey north.
This was a souvenir card I posted home from this location when visiting Bruneii .in April 2009. Another in my many countries and places visited on my "Around the World by Train" journey
