" Borneos Odd Nose "
The Proboscus Monkey is known as" Borneos Odd Nose"is one of Borneos - indeed one of the worlds most spectacular primates It is not found elsewhere in the world and is restricted to mainly coastal swamp areas. The male dominates a harem of up to eight females, which do not have such huge pendulous noses. Their huge stomachs like that of a cow are adapted to slow digestion of their predominately leafy diet.
This was a souvenir card that I chose to send home to my daughter from my visit here on my way "Around The World by Train" journey. ..Posted 15 May 2009.
