" Land of a Thousand Pagodas"
This is another card of my stay in this most amazing place..Bagan would have to be one of the most amazing places on the planet. To spend time here and take in the unbelievable amount of Pagodas, Chedi's and, Temples is just incredible. My favourite memory of Bagan is to climb to the top of a large Chedi and sit and watch over the many hundreds of Chedi's and pagodas that i could see and watch an amazing sunset as the sun disappeared below the horizon.. I got so carried away watching the beauty of the sunset that I didn't realise that now that it was dark..I had to climb down again..this was a very dangerous thing to do as the sides (steps) are very small and you have to place your feet sideways..I am so pleased my trusty "steed " was still waiting for me below..
This is a Unesco site and must be in the running to be a wonder of the ancient world.
This card is a souvenir of my stay here in Bagan and my many visits around viewing these incredible structures. Another lovely card sent while traveling through Myanmar.this was another wonderful stop on my way "Around the World " by train journey Posted home 02 June 2009
