Vietnam

Hoi An :VIETNAM :  (Journey # 1 )                                     " The Ancient Town of Hoi An."

Hoi An is famous for its coloured lanterns.
Colourful boats wait to be hired and used in Hoi An.
A day at the beach in Hoi An..

Hoi An has this really nice beach with grass covered umbrellas for hire also there are many palm trees to seek shade by.. You will never be short of a cold drink or something to eat as there are vendors everywhere selling various food and drinks.. I love the ice cold Cocoanut water/ milk that they sell in a tiny plastic bag with straw...so refreshing and cheap.

many visitors get clothes of all kinds made here as Hoi An is noted for it.. Here is a shoe store that makes your shoe and colour to order.
This is an amazing Old Ancient town to visit in the Northern part of Vietnam..famous for its Lovely coloured Lanterns and also lately its Tailors shops and custom shoe shops. This lovely place is definately the place for those needing a little "Retail Therapy" all types of tailor made clothes here that are usually done within 24 hours of Measurement.. .I got some custom shorts made while I was here. I  arrived here after a long bus ride and was pleased to enjoy some local 'faire" This is an Ancient City and is A Unesco World  Heritage Site. There are many historical and ancient places to visit here..I chose this souvenir card as it depicts the famous and ancient Bridge in Hoi An.. I hired a bicycle while staying here and pedaled to the beach a few kilometers away most days  and had a great day at the beach..The street vendors are great as they sold really cold coconut milk ...so refreshing in what was very humid temperatures . I had an enjoyable five days here in Hoi Ann. This was another great stop on my trip "Around the World by Train". A great city that I would like to re visit someday.
