Germany
Berlin . GERMANY: "HOLDING UP THE WALL."
Souvenir card of" Checkpoint Charlie" in Berlin..the former East Germany.. This time in Berlin aws really great for me as My friend Birgit who grew up here in Berlin was my companion and guide ..so it was a great advantage to be able to get to see so much of this wonderful City.. My arrival in Berlin was by train from Prague and a longer journey than I have been getting used to now in Europe ,with usual short train journeys.. this was an overnight Journey and a rather full train as it was some sort of Holiday., my opposite passenger was an extremely lovely young German woman on here way back to Berlin.she had been studying Music in Vienna and was home to visit her family...as it turned out two of the passengers in the cabin departed so I had one side of the seats and the girl had the other...and so then it was easier to get some rest...I was excited about arriving in Berlin as I had never been there before..my year working and living in Germany was in the south. Of course my first thing was to find some of my favourite German food which was located on the Hauptbahnhof..."Bratwurst mit Kartoffel Salat" und einer beer..thats all I wanted ...change some money and find accomodation.
