The Paoay Church is located in the municipality of Ilocos Norte and the town is the Home of The Paoay Church. A Unesco W.H.S. Another prominent feature of the region is the Paoay Lake ..Legend has it that it was the site of a prosperous "Barangay" called San Juan de Sahagun (St.John of Sahagun ) The gods were so angry with the materialism of the people that he sent an earthquake that sank the town.
