HUE.:
The Trang Tien Bridge in Hue crossing the Perfumed River.. This was my first visit to Hue.. having arrived from Hoi Ann this was a place that I had on my list as I had a friend killed just north of here in the war at Khe Sahn.and was a place that I wanted to visit and pay my respects. Hue was the site of the biggest battle of the Vietnam War with the Battle of the "TET Offensive" in Hue.in 1968.
I visited this huge walled city and it is a lovely place with most of it all having been restored from war damage.. a very impressive place indeed. I like this card..it is so nice to walk by the river at night with its many lit lanterns. and local boats with their dragons heads.
A souvenir postcard from my visits here posted home from Hue on 11 July 2009. This was a place that I would re-visit on my "Around the World by Train" journey's.
