This is a PIF card # 21 that has just arrived in my mailbox and from a fellow card swapper from the Island of Sumartra in Indonesia.  The card shows  "Tana Toraja" The festival of death for this poor buffalo  a festival for the sacrafice of the buffalo.. Im afraid this is  not my sort of festival !!!

I always love to receive wildlife cards and this one from my good friend in Java has sent this one showing the Eagle Owl  ( Bubo Sumatrus).. Thank you so much Andrea for this card.
The Eagle Owl depending on definition...is one of over two dozen species of typical owls found in many parts of the world.

 A wonderful card from a good friend in Indonesia has sent me this card some time ago and have missed scanning and adding it..so, Here is this lovely card of This Sumateran Rhinoceros.
 ( Rhinoceros Sumatrensis ). There are only about approximately 100 of this species of Rhinoceros left in the wild now..and of the 5 species left of Rhinoceros The Javan species sees less than 30 remaining...These wonderful animals must be saved from Destruction..Posted  Jakarta 21 April : Arrived Sydney 29 April : Traveled 8 days..  A lovely card that has arrived withy birthday wishes for me from a postcard friend in Indonesia..The card shows the huge "Rafflesia  Arnoldi " a native flower of the area...so much like its sister Rafflesia  flowers found  in Malaysia.. These are the largest flowers in the world.

Lake Toba: SUMATRA.: INDONESIA.

A really peaceful scene this card shows of Lake Toba and its tranquility in Northern Sumatra. Looks like a storm brewing up in the distance but takes nothing away from this lovely scene.
