This is a real tourist attrection  bring many foreign tourits tothe market place ..The majority of the market women are" Lombani " originating  from Afghanistan.   I really love to receive these cards of various indigenous groups and ethnic peoples .  I have been fortunate to receive some of these cards recently with the kindness of a great friend in Vietnam. This cards shows photos of what is characteristic of these ethnic  minority  groups These women are  Ha Nhi girls in the area of Ha Giang  Lao Cai  Province in Vietnam, such lovely colourful clothes and adornments.

A very significant event in Australias communication network to overseas .

A multi view card showing some fun things to do as I am told a lovely quiet place with good sunny weather ,good food, and very friendly people.  This is a nice showing a beach scene and fishermen getting ready to go out for a day fiching in Nha Trang, Thesmall "Conical boats" are typical of Vietnam and photographed some when I was in Vung Tau that had just returned from fishing and bought myself a lovely fresh fish for dinner..This card has the most lovely stamps . The card is called "The call of the sea."

I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends  and Thank you so much Trang for this yet another lovely card  attatched with a beautiful stamp sheet postage.. amazing ! I love it  ! and your thoughtfulnees to get these special stampsheets and cancellation stamps for  me as I know the trouble that you must go to do that .. sometimes Post Offices can be a long wait !! 
The card shows fishermen at dawn preparing for  days fishing  at Phon Thiet !  and I am sure there are women envolved here also. I was so taken by the women in Vietnam as they work so hard .. and appear to doeverything !! Once again!  What a lovely stampsheet with cancellation.

  A lovely card showing the many Various  "Puffin Billy " steam train that are possible to ride at this site in Victoria that travel through the very scenic Dandenong Ranges   enabling the visitors to have great views from the open  carriages to enjoy this journet..  The kids especially love it as they can freely get to look out of the open carriages ..  There are a couple of great spots for the " photography buffs " as the train travels over some great Wooden Tressle Bridges  and through some wonderful forrested area .. I must say that I enjoyed my day  out there and  also a different tainride back again on a different steam engine !. I have always loved trains especially the Steam Enginges !! I have added a few pics of my day out there .. Thank you so much Adriana for thinking of me with this surprise card from your visit there ..

Aussie Blog .

                        The 4201 looking splendid in its New South Wales livery of Green and Gold.!

This week afterr just so many days of rain my daughter Kristy organised a family day out to theNew South Wales Government Railways Train Museum..and as luck had it  it turned out to be a wonderful sunny day..The Children were so excited as they had never ridden a steam ttrain before .  We had booked tickets for the "Midday Flyer" and everyone was eagerly a wiating for the arrival of our steam engine !! The sound of train whsitles and steam clouds created excitement among the children there , the kids were loving it !!  and I must admit that I was also...The train arrived on time with many visitors on the platform and was plenty of room for all.  The old carriages with such lovely wooden interiors bought back many memories to te trains when I was a lot younger than I am  today.the train tavels out into the local areas for about 40 kilometers before the engine is removed and then does a swithback and the front then becomes the back for ur return journey... such fun !
 
   

I had not been ti the museum for some years and it was so good to get another dose of the nostalgia of all the fine engines of all types and a vast array of rolling stock there that was accessible to all visitors.I have added some of the many photos that I took o the day.. I hope that you enjoy this as much as I did..

 The grandkids cant get there quick enough!

This is The Lounge car  carriage of "The Southern Aurora" the \express that used to tavel between Sydney and Melbourne.. I loved the name.!
