 Darwin : NORTHERN TERRITORY :

This is a lovely recently released card of The Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory Australia. I have visited This National Park and like Australian National Parks is full of wildlife  and usually off the beaten track  . The card shows the Florence Falls.
. I managed to visit this Park with a bunch of likewise travellers from the hostel where I was staying  a lovey hot day and great for a swim to cool off. I will atatch a couple of pics from my visit there.

 The Litchfield National Park is located south of Darwin  The capital city of the Northern Territory.. Th nationa Park covers an area of over 1500 KM/ 2.. located very close to the city of Batchelor. The Litchfield National Park was proclimed a National Park in 1986 and Named after Frederick Henry Litchfield a Territorian explorer . Common wildlife species that are common to the area are The Antilopine Kangaroo, the agile wallaby ,the sugar glider, the southern brushtailed possum ,the fawn antechnius, and various types of flying fox. and the ghost bat. Also native to the area is an abundance of various birds, cockatoos, parrots  When driving here there are many huge magnetic Termite Mounds.. that really dot the landscape..The area also was very popular for its Uranium deposits..The Aboriginal peoples have lived in this areas for thousands of years and is very important to Kungarakan and Murrannunggu people whoes ancestral spirits are still consisered to be actively present within the landscape. The park sees about 340 000 visitors per / year .

 A really great way to start the day with a swim at the beach . This card looks so enticing with the steps heading down to the baech  This beach is one of 10,000 beaches that are along the huge Australian  Coastline .  A lovely card from Mandurah  and a great shot of the beach ! Thanks again Keith for this nice card from Mandurah !  great place.. Love Western Oz and am sure that you enjoyed your recent trip over there,, Thanks for thinking of me on your trip.

Normanton : FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND

I love trains and railway stations This particular "Maxi card" first day release by Australia post shows this wonderful little train " The Gulflander" in the station that is located in the town of Normanton in FNQ...and is a very popular train with train buffs" worldwide ..who travel to this small town to see and ride it to a town a few hours away called Croydon..The train lovingly is called the "Tin Hare" and carries goods to the far outlying farms and properties in the area..I and a bunch of friends and family had driven out here and excitedly booked our tickets for the following mornings journey.as sometimes the small allocation of seats is booked out.This train journey I must say was a really great experience and also a very unique train to ride..The train stops after a few hours travel in a place called "Black Bull" where local country women put on a morning tea" of fresh hot scones with "strawberries and cream""oh this was just so good..A few other stops were made along the line for locals to pick up deliveries from the train..I will attatch a few pics of my own from this great little train journey..Also I added a pic of the famous Aussie icon The Purple pub" that is also located in Normanton and a great place to blow the froth off a few cold beers in the north Queensland heat of the day..

Dubbo : N.S.W.

 A great stopover on our drive to the North of Queensland...This stop at Dubbo in far western New South Wales was a good break after the long drive from Sydney..A country town with many things to see and d. The main place for our visit was to the Western Plains Zoo... was a must see...A wonderful large zoo where the animals have lots of space to wander within large enclosures usually bordered by a moat. This Zoo is recognised world wide for its breeding programmes and is affiliated with Taronga Zoological Park in Sydney..This is a souvenir card of our visit here.
