Did you watch this English TV show ??
The early music is fantastic.

This lovely little town was  a destination on a day out trip in the northern part of England while staying with great friends there. This town was bought to prominence recently as it is the feature of a very popular TV show called "HEARTBEAT" along with its fabulous 60's music I ma sure people all over the english speaking word (except America ) will be familiar with this great and popular TV show. Also here among the sets used in the show is the wonderful "Adensfield Arms" where a few cold beers were in order as this was a very warm afternoon. Also here in Goathland is the 125 year old railway station that appears to be where time stood still..and how lovely it all is...as The Grosmount to Pickering  Express train stops at the many local stations for visitors..This was a marvellous day out in the beautiful English countryside and I can't thank you enough to my great mates Terry and Barbra..This is my souvenir postcard of my visit here while on my "Around the World by Train " journey.. There were so many wonderful places to visit I can only show a few..A visit to Whitby and the Home of Captain James Cook who discovered Australia in the name of the British Queen and took posession of same. A walk to the top of the hill overlooking the lovely little seafaring Town of "Whitby" is the castle that was the inspiration  for the book to be penned "Dracula."From here we drive to Red Car., another lovely seaside town with its funicular tramcar that delivers you to and from the beach. Here we enjoy an ice cream as it is a warm English day...next stop is the town of Hartlepool .The first town to be shelled by a German war ship in 1914.
Here also I see one of my favourite and loveable cartoon Character"Andy Capp" drawn by a local cartoonist  for the papers of the world. Thank you so much Barbara and Terry for making this trip possible.

I was really enjoying Berlin but as I had to make my way to England soon now as I was running out of funds, after only receiving a certain amount in Moscow (after I was robbed.) I had to be in England to pick up my new card and funds that had been transferred. I must say I was looking forward to having money again. This was another souvenir card that I sent home from my visit here. There was so much that I got to see thanks to my lovely friend Birgit.., and one place was a day out to the Olympic Park made famous not only by the Olympic Games but by Hitler. A truly great Olympic Stadium to think that it was built way back in 1938. In 1938 This Stadium must have been the greatest Olympic Stadium in the world. The card shows The Brandenberg Gate with Wall in place .

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Riga but I had to hurry to get to My meeting in Krakow. I was running out of visit time... From Riga unfortunately there was not an international train so it was reluctantly a bus ride to Kaunus in Lithuania and then another bus to Warsaw. I will say it was a good bus also..
This was souvenir card that I liked and forgot to post as it was inside a travel book..

MY SOUVENIR CARD OF MY VISIT TO THIS BEAUTUL CITY OF TALLIN.

Tallinn.: ESTONIA.:

Tallinn.: ESTONIA.         THE MOSCOW TO TALLINN "TALLINNA EXPRESS #23."
A very heavy downpour just after I arrive at the "Leningradsky" Railway Station , and then  a short wait for the train sees my exit out of Moscow and heading for Tallinn in Estonia..after hearing so much of this lovely place and its people it was with great interest  and anticipation that I look forward to my destination..I have a good bed for the night in a four bed "Kupeny"..with lovely clean sheets and a hot cup of tea not long after the train departs Moscow..The difference is noticeable not very long after crossing the border into Estonia..The .traffic , cars, roads many things that immediately grab your attention I was really taken by the sophistication  of these Baltic countries, as it is very quickly recognised after Moscow. The lovely well dressed women to be seen everywhere. There is much more colour here !!
I was met at the Tallinn Station at an early hour by the manager of the Hostel  that I had booked from Moscow. At first this is difficult as I have lost my cards when I was robbed.. Well...what a wonderful man, and I soon learn his family went to Australia to settle after WWII. Here he is back in his home again after many years, now  running a very successful buisiness I can't believe how much  I am spoilt while staying here. . I will never forget the generosity that was shown to me while on my stay here.. This card shows a panoramic scene of the City of Tallinn a real "chocolate box" scenery is to be viewed everywhere.. I fall in love with this place and its people.. as someone else once said  "I shall return"..Time went by quickly with so much to see and do and everyday spending some time in the old city...absolutely beautiful. This was a souvenir card I posted home from my visit and my stop "Around The World by Train" journey.
