A lovely surprise card from a lovely  friend travelling in Portugal. Thank you Birgit for thinking of me and sounds like you are enjoying your trip.  This is a lovely black /  white card from Porto in Portugal.  This is the city that gave Portugal its name. Porto is also known worldwide for its wines  ,bridges and contemporary Architecture,  Thanks Birgit for thinking of me with this nice card.  The Historic Centre of Porto is a Unesco World Heritage site.

OLA ! and Thank you Cristine for this unusual card .. it is very interesting what you have written here about these "Espigueiros"  of Soajo. These Stone buildings to be found here are to dry the thick maize .The maize requires it to be harvested in Autumn and these buildings allow the maize to be aired as much as possible as to dry in the oncoming winter...Thank you so much again Cristine for this really informative card.
What a shame it is now to see more often these "cranked" stamps for postage.

I always look and try and photograph if possible the many different types and shapes of local fishing boats of the world..Their owners always take a certain love of their boat and how it is presented..and can be so different..
