 Mestia is located in Svaneti Region of  Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Province.The townlet is dominated by stone defensive towers of a type seen in ("Ushguli") Svan Towers . A typical Svan fortified dwelling consisted of dwelling, an adjacent house (machub ) and some other household structures encircled by a defensive wall.

Thank you Anna for this card of the Eiffel Tower from your previous visit... The card says that The tower was constructed for Gustav Eiffel  for the worlds Fair in 1889..the Tower is 325 Meters high and weighs  10,000 tons.(including 60 tonnes of paint ) and 2.5 million rivets.. The card arrived badly torn but arrived in a plastic sleeve..Thank you to Deutsche Bundespost for the protection... after the damage that your machines had done..

 A surprise card from a friend that is usually traveling somewhere..This card from Beijing on her way in transit to Xian and getting the "Chinese" run around that foreigners have to go through to buy tickets in China,, Sounds like you have a busy schedule China certainly is a very interesting destination.. This card that is also in two parts the end section can be removed for a bookmark..very handy ..
The card shows The defensive Gate Tower guarding the Xi An City Gate,This tower with 3 shooting windows  ( 66 openings ) to watch the enemy movement and stop the enemy with closely group fire and is crucial work of the ancient city defences..Thank you Angela for taking time out and sending this for me.

 Thank you also Wency for this card also from Wuhan that accompanied my Christmas card.. The card shows The "Yellow Crane Tower"a very famous and popular attraction in the City of Wuhan.The Tower famous for its magical "dancing Cranes"well known in the poetry of  Cui Hao ..although this may have long passed.. but this famous Tower still stands on the top of "Snake Hill" The Tower was originally contructed in AD223 and has been re- built on numerous occassions and today this lovely Tower stands tall in their place.

 Thank you Shelley for this great card showing The Eiffel Tower in Paris..I was also pleased to visit this Site and I was luckier, for as you mentioned that there were so many visitors that you didn't get to climb it.. The view is certainly a good one.. and was so pleased to do it as it was a monument that I had learned so much  about in my French classes..So glad that you are enjoying your European tour and you are certainly getting to see lots. especially Frances Capital City.

 This is a beautiful card showing the Portico of the Terminal Tower in Cleveland and what a lovely magnificent building it is.. The Portico of The Terminal Tower is is Cleveland's Symbol, reflects the grandeur and magnificence of the 1930's (Railroad Era ). Extensive renovation has bought back the exquisite detail of this rich architectural treasure. Several murals of Jules Guerin are under the arches that depict Commerce, Buisness, Industry,Trade and Transportation. The trains that run into it now are all public / Metro lines there are many shops cafes Restaurants and an old Post Office located here..I really enjoyed my visit to this wonderful building on my recent visit to Cleveland on my "around the USA by Train June -August 2013..I had a wonderful experience here where I was very privilidged to go to the roof of The Tower and get some amazing Photos of the city..Wonderful..  Thank you so much for this card E marie..This has great memories from me from my visit here  Posted Cleveland 17 May 2014:..Received Sydney 30 May 2014 : Traveled 13 days..Thanks again.

A great shot of the Communications Tower in Kula Lumpur..One of the best views of the City from the top of this Tower ..it is terrific. without the hassles of the Petronis Towers..The tower has a foundation of 17 meters with its basement .  This is a fine card showing some different views of Canberra  Australia's Capital City in the A.C.T. Australian Capital Territory.... L.to R.1. A view of Canberra from Mount Ainslie, Parliament House with its distinctive Flagpole Opened in 1988  ( The Bi Centenary of the Country), 3 Commonwealth Park during Springtime Floriade. This card  was posted at the Post Office within Parliament House and was a souvenir of my visit this day to Parliament House to sit and watch Parliament proceedings and politicians arguing about everything mentioned.. .I worked for the Construction Company that built this really unique structure..
