  The swap cards that I love keep coming and this is another in a series that I really like and is the State Birds and Flowers of the Various States of the USA.  This card is from the State of Michigan and shows this lovely State Bird of Michigan "The American Robin" .   what a lovely little bird. also it shows The"State Flower of Michigan" The  Apple Blossom..so nice ..we are so lucky to be able to enjoy such natural beauty.

Thank you Ruby for this another lighthouse card for my collection..The card shows the De Tour Point Light located in De Tour Michigan. I love lighthouse cards as they are always just so different and hard to imagine that these lighthouses allover the world can be so different..while serving the same purpose..
The village of De Tour marks the southern entrance to the St.Mary's River.The present structure was built in 1931 at the site of the De Tour reef located about a mile offshore.Overall the structure stands 63 feetall from the base to the to the top of the ventilator ball. This multi view card shows The "Slit Rock" lighthouse one of Minnesota's best known and recognised landmarks that was first lit in 1910. Views include the foghorn building and a closeup of the Fresnel lens in the lantern room..

What a great card from "The Motown Museum"showing the many many groups from The Motown era of Music "Tamla- Motown". Detroit .. the "Motor City "..to see all these various groups that gave the world such an endless line of great music.. brings back so many memories of that time...when.. now when you here a Motown song and it takes you back to where you were when you first heard it !!

A great card with great matching stamps ..Thanks Arnold for this card from your recent visit to The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborne Michigan. This card is of The Presidential limousine used originally by John F Kennedy.at the time a covertible.

The Kennedy presidential limousine: The President John F Kennedy was riding in this modified Lincoln Continental Convertible when he was shot in Dallas Texas on November 22 1963.After the asassination the car was returned to the Ford Factory and rebuilt from the Chassis up in titanium armour and bullet proof glass.and a new hardtop was fitted.The car was returned to service and used by the Presidents , Johnson, Ford , Nixon, and Carter. before being retired in 1977.
this car can be seen along with many other presidential limousines also at the Ford Museum..

AH! The Oscar Mayer  "Wienermobile" from 1952..is one of the worlds most famous productmobiles and looks like the product that it is advertising.Updated versions of this "Weinermobile" still travel across the US today .The 1952 Wienermobile is the oldest surviving example and can be seen at the Ford Motor Museum in Dearbourne Michigan. The Henry Ford Museum is a remarkable showcase of American innovation and has one of the largest collections of its kind ever assembled..

This truly is an amazing museum and I visited it on my "Around the USA by Train" Journey I also looked closely at this amazing vehicle made especially for the company..This is one of the greatest Museums that I have ever visited..being a Ford man and growing up with many various makes and models of fords...I also looked for and found many of the models that I used to own..outstanding.. Thank you so much Arnold for thinking of me on your recent visit to this amazing Museum..

A Map card from the Great lakes state...Michigan.. Than you Mel for this and the time to do it on yout trip...Card shows a map of the Lake Michigan. Bordered by four of the five Great Lakes, Lake Michigan has more freshwater shoreline than any other state Michigan is the only state to consists entirely of two peninsulas.. The State motto is : "If you seek a pleasant peninsular"? , look about you..

Another great card from a great card swap friend in USA...Hey mate...thanks for this card .. I love it .!!..I saw this when I was visiting Tis Ford Museum.. This amazing museum has just so much unbelievable items to be seen...and at least a long full day is needed. This is one for your bucket list...Being a Ford man and growing up and owning many early model Fords this Museum had many memories for me..

The card shows Abraham Lincolns chair: President Abraham Lincoln was assasinated by John Wilkes Booth on April 14th 1865 while sitting in this chair in Fords Theatre in Washington DC. Henry Ford aquired the chair from the original owner some 60 years later and put it on display in his incredible Museum.
 ( The inset is photo ) is a the last photograph  of  Abraham Lincoln made by Alexander Gardiner shortly before Lincolns death.

I love this card that I have just received ..card shows the music and some of the many different recording artists that made the Tamla Motown sound of music just so popular.. Artists like  The Supremes , The Four Tops , Martha and the Vandellas , The Commodores , Marvin Gaye , Etc, Etc , Really just so many to name...such wonderful artists turning out hit after hit after hit.... Motown short for "The Motortown " Detriot.. also famous for the huge car factories that were located here and the fantastic cars that they produced famous all over the world like the music. I loved this card when I saw it and thanks to a good friend  I have enabled to put this amongst my favourite postcards...Thank you Arnold ..also for the many great stamps

 This is a favourite card... Now and again I get a card that I love just a little bit more this is one.. Thanks Arnold for sending this to me from the Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan while travelling there recently. This bus The Montgomery City Bus #2857 ( The Rosa Parks Bus ). Originally built in in 1948 in Pontiac Michigan bus #2857 was originally operated by the The  Montgomery City Bus when lines in Montgomery Alabama.from 1954 to 1971.
 This card shows the actual bus that created such amazing controversy in 1955. The story is :
   Ms. Rosa Parks was riding the bus on the evening of December 1 1955 when she was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white man. This incident subsequently sparked large civil rights protests., especially the boycott of Montgomery's bus system. The Montgomery bus boycott was the beginning of a revolutionary era of non violent mass protests in support of civil rights across the United States.The year long boycott kept Montgomery's blacks off all buses until December 1956 when the US Supreme Court ruled that the segregation of all public transport was unconstitutional.
 Bus #2857 was retired and sold in 1971. After sitting for 30 years in a field the bus was purchased at Auction by The Henry Ford Museum and has been completely restored to how it appeared in 1955
 This bus is now on display in The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan  USA.

I really love to receive the "Did You Know " cards. They are so informative and don't arrive very often..This particular card shows Henry Ford ..the inventor of the "production line" of manufacturing of course Henry Ford became a worldwide name with it.

 Henry Ford ( July 30 1863 -April 07 1947 ) The founder of The Ford motor Company and the father of the modern assembly lines used in mass production. His introduction of the Model "T " automobile revolutionised transportation and American industry. He was a prolific inventor and was awarded 161 U.S. patents.As owner of the Ford Motor Company he became one of the richest men in the world.
 Recently I visited The Ford Museum in Dearborne Michigan and must say it is one of the best museums that I have ever seen. and well worth the visit if you are ever close by.especially if you loved the old Fords as I do...they are all there..amazing.   Thanks Arnold for this great card..
