  The Red Rock National Conservation area is located about 12 miles west of Las Vegas . This area showcases  a serues of large red rock formations  a set of sandstone peaks and walls called The Keystone Trust .The walls are up to 3000 feet high  making this site a popular hiking and climbing destination .

A surprise card from New Mexico of the Carlsbad Caverns  ..  These caverns must be incerdible to witness as staed by this sender  from her recent visit . Thank you so much Heidi for this Unesco site  .  
 Located in The Guardalupe Mountains of Southern New Mexico the Carlsbad Caverns  National Park covers over 120 limestone caves in a fossil reef  laid down 50 million years ago. Indigenous native American Indians lived here in this area twelve to fourteen thousand years ago Thier pichographs have been found and  cooking ring sites  have been found within the parks boundaries . This is a Unesco World Heritage site .Thanl youHeidi .

  Chichen Itza  MEXICO.:

  WOW..  What a great surprise this great card from Mexico and the World Heritage Site ..and also wonder of the World.  Chichen Itza in Mexico.  This amazing pyramid of Aztec culture  is  being a Wonder of The World is a huge attraction for tourists and sight seeres from all over the world.  They say that at  the spring and fall equinoxes  (March 21st ) the north face is the scene of Kulkans deccent to earth. Thank you so much Mel for this great card I am sure that your visit there was a great experience it is on my "bucket list " too.. Thanks again hugs..

Alice Springs . THE NORTHERN TERRITORY.: 

 This is a great card a recent relaease by Australia Post and shows " The Devils Marbles" located at the "Karlu Karlu" Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve  in the Northern Teritory of Austalia. 

Karlu Karlu is a protected area in The Northern Territory of Australia and is located in the lacality of Warumungu  and about 105 kilometers (65 miles) south of Tennant Creek and 393 ( 244 miles ) north of Alice Springs . The Devils Marbles are of great cultural and spritual significance to  the traditional owners ( Ree ) of the land where the reserve protects one of the oldest reigious sites in the world as well as the natural Rock Formations found here "Katlu Karlu" is the aboriginal name for the rock features and the surrounding araea.In 1982 almost the entire area was declared a sacred site by The Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority.

Thank you Ruby for this and one of many lighthouse cards that you have sent me. This card shows the Split Rock lighthouse on the coast of Lake Superior..

THE SPLIT ROCK LIGHTHOUSE STATE PARK:is a State Park of Minnesota on the shores of Lake Superior.and is best known for its "Split Rock Lighthouse " which is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the United States.

This light house was first lit in 1910 The beacon of The Split Rock lighthouse guided the mariners across the dark and treacherous waters of western Lake Superior for over 50 years. The 3rd order Fresnel lens is seven foot across and weighs seven and a half tons and was made in Paris France  of many cut glass prisms. Originally used with a kerosene lamp., when the light station was electrified in 1939 the light was furnished with a 1000 watt bulb. The official range of the light is 22 miles but has been seen from as far away as 60 miles. The light station is now administered by the Minnesota Historical Societ and visitors may climb the 33 steps to the top of the tower.

The Teton Mountain range spans a fault line of some 40 miles long and seven to nine miles wide .
The Grand Teton is the highest peak at 13,770 feet.

What a great card Thank you so much Arnold for this swap...I have visited here twice and is an amazingly solemn place..This is a wonderful dedication to all those who were killed here on the attack on Pearl Harbour December 7th 1941. bringing  the USA into the world conflict of WWII..

The interior marble wall of the USS Arizona Memorial contains the names of 1,177 of Arizona crewmen.and stands firm and solid in rememberance to those who lost their lives during the Japanese aerial attack on the morning of December 7th 1941 " A day that will live in infamy "

Thank you Shelley for thinking of me on your recent trip. This card shows an old poster card of The "Glacier National Park" located in Montana on the border with Canada's Provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. The Park encompasses a large area of  one million acres ( 4,000 KM2 ) and includes parts of two mountain ranges ( sun Ranges of The Rocky Mountains,) The region that became The Glacier National Park was firstly inhabited by Native Americans and was dominated by the "Blackfeet" in the east and the "Flatheads " in the western regions.
  A crowd in Excess of 4,000 gathered atop Logan Pass in The Glacier National Park on July 15th 1933. They not only celebrated the memory of Americas first National Park director , Stephen T. Mather but witnessed the dedication of what began as the "Trans-Mountain Highway" that took Architects , engineers and construction workers nearly 20 years to complete Mather's vision of what became Glaciers  "Going to the Sun Road"
