HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my friends out there !! and wishing that 2021 is better for everyone than 2020 was !
Well ,,everyone ..we are all over Christmas now and The "Fat Guy in the Red Suit" has returned to the freezing north.once again. I am sure that most people are pleased to see the back of 2020 as it leaves the building !! What a year it has been here ..amazing! Firstly getting over a five year drought ..watching the marvellous convoys of trucks carrying life saving fodder for a lot of the farming livestock in dire straights.!!..most generously donated by regular Aussies and trucks time donated also .. This was just so great to see the outpouring of help for the farming communities. who were on the edge in most places..
Then came the fires ... incredible fires to hit so many states that caused such incredible losses .. houses ,lives, farming buildings , livestock, farm machinery ,and vehicles, much infrastructure
The losses to wildlife is incalculable ..many animal hospitals were inundated with hurt and burnt animals.. so hard to see the carnage of these fires played out constantly on most tv channels.. The local and rural fire services stretched to their very limits with thousands of local fire services and volunteers along with many overseas fire service volunteer to assist in Australia's crisis/
Once again many Aussies donated money to the manyvarious animal hospitals to assit with their overwhelming needs..Everyone watched as the fires consumed amazing amounts of forrested areas and different communities.. ( I will add some amzing photos ). The smoke around most of January was incedibly bad and a mask was needed if outside here in Sydney. There were many fund raisers for the fire victims with cocerts and the like to assit the bushfire victims that had lost everything and also to assist and help the various fire services .and they raised hudreds of millions of daollars also alot coming from overseas may I add !!. that had suffered big losses also..This was such an incredible time for everyone as the watched these huge fires expand daily and the huge admiration that everyone had forthe firemen and women fighting the fires This also was an extremely hot summer with some days with temperatures here of 45 degrees centigrade !! Finally a stage was reached where the fires were under control and damage assesnent and the search for injured people and wildlife was put in place.. finally the fires were out.. So much helpp was needed and backup for the many that had lost everything .! still the animal hospitals were overwhelmed with injured animals that kept arriving.. searches were in place to find them....
AND THEN :
ALONG CAME COVID VIRUS !!
Everyone was starting to be aware of the reports of people falling over in the streets of China with a mistery illness scenes were played out on TV.. A prominent doctor in Wuhan spoke out about this dreadful new virus with scenes of hospitals hallways crammed with sick and dying people..He made a big mistake and spoke out.!!. not long after his message reached out in the international media he had himself died..Then the cruise ships bought in the virus in March creating a huge amount of consternation for the governments health services. and Borders were closed .. international and all state borders..
I beleive ..we like most vvarious governments were caught with our pants down as the many people started dying especially the old aged homes were the hardest hits as they tried to get a system in place to track the virus spreaders... so here we are today ..after nine months of this damned virus again in lockdown ,,after a recent locally spread virus is out there.. We thought the virus was under controlas there were no reported cases for some time the an overseas arrival (they beleive an airline staff member ) not observing quarantine .set it off again.. well folks here we are the end of 2020 and the year that most will want to forget..with all our state borders closed again.. GRRRR.. sick of lockdown.!!
