SOME OF THE MURALS IN AND AROUND  BETHANY

START ON ROUTE 66 WITH BREAKFAST AT THE" BOOMERANG CAFE"

WELL,, WE'RE HERE STAFFORD..  OKLAHOMA. BORDERLINE
OKLAHOMA CITY AND ROUTE 66. OK.

""Well , its down to St Louis, out through Missouri, Oklahoma City looks all so pretty, you'll see Amarillo, Gallup , New Mexico Flagstaff Arizona, don't forget Mona, Kingsman , Barstow, San Bernadino..get hip to this kind of trip and take this California trip .."Get your Kicks on Route 66.."""

Well... I didn't do it all but we spent the day  on Route 66 and visited some small towns now struggling to make a  living off this "un-promoted" part of American 50's history..I find many travelers here to "DO" Route 66. They come from everywhere to see this American Icon..so many on mototor cycles...and what a great way to do it.. I enjoy Bethany and only get as far as Yukon..."Home of Garth Brooks " The American country singer legend..have a few beers at the Horseshoe Saloon in Yukon also . We enjoy some great country music..would love to keep driving west but ..we have to go to Bricktown for a great steak at The" Cattlemans Steak House" a place that is reputed to sell the best steaks in the world.and they are great.!!.We  then watch a game of baseball at the  Bricktown Baseball park. We also visit the huge Cattleyards and take in this wonderfully "western style"  environment , and really enjoying these great hard working cattlemen who work hard to feed the masses of people who are so indifferent to their lifestyle. A more Hospitable folk you will not find.  Also a great place also to stock up on jeans etc....An AMAZING day. Thanks Gordy and Stafford for this day of many great memories. This has been another part of our Oklahoma Road Trip on my "Around the World by Train journey.Posted home.July 2013. Thank you Oklahoma ...I love you..!!

THE NEW DALLAS COWBOYS FOOTBALL STADIUM .ARLINGTON TEXAS.

THE AMAZING  "BILLY BOBS"  FORT WORTH TEXAS

WILLY'S PLACE   WEST  TEXAS.

THE TEXAS RANGERS MUSEUM
Dallas.: TX.
I didn't realise that I sent so many cards home from Texas.. I was so lucky to have such great friends here where I got to see so much.. This time around Texas was just so much hotter...being pretty used to the heat...all days tempearatures were over a 100 degrees and so hard to get so much done as I find the extreme heats really makes you tired.. and its a constant monitor on your hydration..I was just so happy to see so many wonderful sites..These were some of my many stops in Texas on my 'Around the World by Train" journey through the USA. From here, it is onto Fort Worth ,El Paso, Tuscon Pheonix , Los Angeles , and San Fransisco..
One of these that was very interesting was the Texas Rangers Museum.  Here is a hisitory of This Teaxan Law enforcement group of police officers who have forged a great name for themselves over time.Always very conspicuous in their stetson hats and cowboy boots.. always look immaculate.
There are so many interesting things to see in this museum  such a variety of law enforcement firearms ..rifles, revolvers all sorts of handguns  also to be seen here is the early model Ford car (33 model I beleive ) of the notorious couple known as " Bonny and Clyde"  Their bullet ridden  car is something to behold..  also here to be seen are may artefats and memorabilia  of all kinds along with Native American items. Thank you Stff this was a great visit.
This was another souvenir card Posted Dallas :12 August 2013.one of mymany visits to Dallas.

"AW SHUCKS" BEST SHRIMP COCKTAIL ON THE PLANET..
Dallas.: TX.:
The texas Eagle Service from St louis to dallas along the way follows a lot of the old Route 66..Once again I find myself back in Texas visiting my friends.. I step down from the train . The "Texas Eagle Service from St Louis to Dallas .and Boy!! is it hot, must be well over 100F and 43 C. degrees. The difference in the temperature was immediate...So Pleased to see my mate is there to meet me and whisk me away to" Dickies Ribs" ..." Dickies"has been a favourite of mine to visit and eat for the last thirty years...great BBQ at "Dickies". and today the ribs are as they always are ...spectacular. not only that is the cold lemonade...so good today I .thought I would melt..I must say its so good to be back in Dallas always feel good here...the hospitality of southern people in the USA knows no bounds..I love it.!
This time we decide to take a road trip also up into Oklahoma but first so many great places here to eat and places to go visit..like The Cowboys Stadium and "Aw Shucks " for the best shrimp cocktail and fish and chips on the planet. Also we check out Texas Rangers baseball stadium and Willy's place in" West "Texas. Fort Worth for some new jeans and denim shirts., the temperatures are extremely high and find myself mostly cooling off in the pool at my mates house when I can..getting excited about my road trip to Oklahoma. Toronto : CANADA.:
Although my stay in Toronto of six days was not as long as would have liked I really enjoyed the city and the Harbour. I was very taken back by the amount of demolition and building of "Condos" that was apparent ..even the Hostel "backpackers " where I was staying had just been sold for re- development.!! . I really wanted to see a local game of Baseball with the local "Blue Jays " but they were playing away.. a dissapointment that followed me around the USA...always missing the game. This card I sent home as souvenir of my vist to this lovely City and do hope to return.. This was a highlight of my stops on my "Around The World by Train" journeys. Posted Toronto 09 July 2013.

"THE LADY OF THE MIST" BOAT TRIP OUT TO THE FALLS..
NIAGARA FALLS .CANADA.

I must that I really looked forward to seeing Niagara Falls..and going out on "The Lady of The Mist " boat to the base of the Falls and witness the sound of this magnificent spectacle of Nature..One of the things that I like to do in my travels is to see these magnificent waterfalls wherever they may be. There are about five magnificent waterfall in the world to see.. I think that they are all wonderful natural sites to witness and enjoy.
This for me was a great experience...and one that I will remember for sometime. During my time in Niagara Falls town I also visited The Hard Rock cafe...what I call the museums of rock and Roll as there are just so many great things to see in the way of memorabilia in the various Hard Rocks no two are the same..also the food is always good. and a few beers too.
