The Margay ( Leopardius wiedii ) is a small cat native to Central and South America.that is listed as "near threatened since 2008 because remaining populations are thought to be declining due to loss of habitat following loss of forrested areas. The Margay is a solitary and nocturnal cat that lives foremost in primary evergreen and deciduous forrested areas. Until the 1990's Margay's were hunted illegally for the wildlife trade which resulted in a large decrease in the population. Most notably the Margay is a very skillful climber  moreso than its relative The Ocelot and is sometimes called the tree Ocelot because of its ability.and are found exclusively in dense forrest.The Margay is one of the four spotted  varieties of cats in Belize.

PHILLIP ISLAND.

 A lovely card of these lovely little "Fairy Penguins"  that are found here on Phillip Island.
The little Penguin    ( Eudtptula minor ) is the smallest species of penguin and grows to an average of 33 centimetres  ( 13 inches ) in height and 43 centimetres ( 17 inches ) in length though specific measurements vary by sub species, found along the coastlines of southern Australia and New Zealand with possible records from Chile. In Australia they are called "Fairy penguins " in New Zealand they are more commonly known as little blue penguins or" Blue Penguins " owing to their slate blue plumage .They are also known by their Maori name of Korora. Like most penguins their wings have developed into "flippers" for swimming.Like most sea birds they have a long lifespan and the average for the species is 6.5 years.

A lovely card has just arrived from a friend traveling in Belize.. Thanks Arnold this is a great card.. The card shows the beautiful iridescent blue colour of this lovely huge butterfly..
The Blue Morpho  ( Morpho Peleides ) is only one of the eight hundred butterfly species found in Belize. Due to its large size and iridescent blue colour it makes an everlasting impression on everyone who sees it.
