Lanzarote: CANARY ISLANDS. (SP)

A great surprise today my first card from one of the Canary Islands. Thanks Birgit this is a great surprise and I guess one of the least visited islands in the group..Lanzarote is the the easternmost of the Autonomous Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 125 kilometers  (78 miles ) off the coast of Africa and 1000 kilometers ( 621 miles ) from The Iberian peninsular. Covering  845.9 square kilometers (327 sq.miles ) it is the fourth largest island in the Canary group. Born out of many fiery eruptions Lanzarote has solidified lava streams and is well known for its extravagant  rock formations and volcanoes..Thank you so much Birgit love this card..

Another great road-trip card.. Thanks Mel love these!! This card is the "100 Miles Exploring Kansas" by Highway.Four thousand square miles of unique historical attractions and culture make up "THE AMAZING 100 MILES"of central Kansas.This area between Salina and Hays includes 20 miles on either side of Interstate 70. Looks like a great road trip Mel..Thanks to you and Boyd for this card.Sure hope you also liked the Trip on the 'Southwest Chief to Flagstaff..

Colmar: FRANCE.:

 Another lovely card from Jodie for me from Alsace. A lovely card from the historic town of Colmar showing the Birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi.. The sculptor of the Statue of Liberty. The card shows multi- views and one is of a miniature Statue of Liberty in the Town of Colmar that was erected in his Honour  in 2004 . The sculpture of his "lion" can be seen at the base of the "Ciatadel". The lion represents the resistance against the French -Prussian war as Belfont was once a part of Alsace until 1871. What a lovely town scene it is ..a nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee..

More than half of Alaska's population lives within the metropolitan area of Anchorage.Alaska's economy is dominated by the oil, gas , and fishing industries.Alaska became a territory on March 11 1912 and was admitted into the Union as the 49th State  on January 3rd.1959.The capital city is Anchorage.
