Katoomba : N.S.W.
A lovely scenic card showing this view of "The Three Sisters" (an aboriginal dream time legend) located in The Blue Mountains National Park . This is a very large National Park as it joins togeather with other National Parks. ie: Kanagra Boyd to the south where the large Jenolan Caves are located and, The Wollemi National Park to the north home to the Pre- historic "Wollemi Pine " .and also Yengo National Park..These National Parks togeather encompass a huge area and their views go to the horizon. Recently an ancient tree was found growing within the Wollemi National Park and is now known as the "Wollemi Pine" dating back many thousands of years. These parks attract a huge number of visitors and hikers..many of the hikers with little preparation get lost and create huge searches. A big problem in the summer here in these huge forested areas are bush fires and take huge local firefighting infrastructure and effort to contain. Many visitors come also for the proliferation of animals and Bird life that can be seen here.so many different beautifully colored birds, Parrots, Cockatoos and Parrakeets can be seen everywhere. This National Park can be easily accessed by train from Sydney City..
This was recently recognised as a Unesco World Heritage Nature Site.
