Another lovely card todaty arrived from a friend in Sabah..showing lovely sunset over coastal Sulu Sea , Sandakan, The Turtle Islands . Sandaken of course was a very bad experience for any person or soldier that was a prisoner of the Japanese here in WWII . Many Australians died here under the brutal treatment and death marches that the Japanese were famous for..with not many poor sould living to talk about their horrendous ordeals..There is a memorial to The Australians and allied soldiers in Sandakan..A sad place in Australian History..
Thank you so much Fiona for this lovely card from Sandakan..also the really lovely stamps they really enhance a card. I really wanted to get this far north in Sabah to visit Sandakan but unfortunately I ran out of time....next time..
