United States of America.

Wilmington : NC.:
This is an old card that I have had sent and am not sure if this marvellous old battleship is still there  in Wilmington North Carolina.!!!. The card Shows The USS North Carolina, a Second World War Veteran Battleship that earned12 battle stars in Various Naval engagements From Guadalcanal to Tokyo . Weighing in at 35, 000 tons . these large battleships were a force to be reckoned with when  in a fight.
I beleive that is it so good when these "old Veteran Ships" get to be museums instead of scrap.
I recently visited the  U.S.S. Missouri in Pearl Harbour on my last visit.. I had previously been on this magnificent Battleship in Sydney Harbour when she visited for Navy Week..This was one of four "Iowa Class Battleships" that are all famous and are ALL museums after being retired and struck off the US Navy register. These ships were re commissioned on various occasions when muscle was needed right up until the Gulf war recently. This also was the battleship that saw the surrender of the Japanese Military Forces, while anchored in Tokyo bay in August 1945 .  love these cards..
