What a great surprise to find this" Flags of the World" card in my mailbox..and a big thank you Rosmarie for thinking of me..this is great and also a rather difficult card to get for my collection of FOW cards.

CAPITAL CITY : of Kazakhstan is Astana.
LOCATION: of Kazakhstan is in Central Asia.
UNIQUE to Kazakhstan is that is the worlds largest landlocked country.
KAZAKHSTAN : Also is the largest dry Steppe region in the world. The Kazakh Steppe ( plain ) with an area of around 804,500 square kilometers about one third of the country.
FAMOUS :  The Baikonur Cosmodrome is the worlds oldest and largest operational space launch facility. Both the  "Sputnik 1" the first artificial Sattelite ( 1957 ) and "Vostok 1" with Yuri Gagarin as pilot the first manned space flight (1961 ) were launched from there.
ALMATY : Kazakhstan's biggest city is thought to be "Apples " ancestral home.
HISTORY : Horse Domestication : Archaeologists believe that humans first domesticated the horse in Batol settlements in the Atmola province in approximatly  3.500 BC
THE KAZAKH Khanate 1456 - 1847.
INDEPENDENCE : Kazakhstan acheived its Independence in 1991 from The Soviet Union.
