WELL,, WE'RE HERE STAFFORD.. OKLAHOMA. BORDERLINE |
OKLAHOMA CITY AND ROUTE 66. OK.
""Well , its down to St Louis, out through Missouri, Oklahoma City looks all so pretty, you'll see Amarillo, Gallup , New Mexico Flagstaff Arizona, don't forget Mona, Kingsman , Barstow, San Bernadino..get hip to this kind of trip and take this California trip .."Get your Kicks on Route 66.."""
Well... I didn't do it all but we spent the day on Route 66 and visited some small towns now struggling to make a living off this "un-promoted" part of American 50's history..I find many travelers here to "DO" Route 66. They come from everywhere to see this American Icon..so many on mototor cycles...and what a great way to do it.. I enjoy Bethany and only get as far as Yukon..."Home of Garth Brooks " The American country singer legend..have a few beers at the Horseshoe Saloon in Yukon also . We enjoy some great country music..would love to keep driving west but ..we have to go to Bricktown for a great steak at The" Cattlemans Steak House" a place that is reputed to sell the best steaks in the world.and they are great.!!.We then watch a game of baseball at the Bricktown Baseball park. We also visit the huge Cattleyards and take in this wonderfully "western style" environment , and really enjoying these great hard working cattlemen who work hard to feed the masses of people who are so indifferent to their lifestyle. A more Hospitable folk you will not find. Also a great place also to stock up on jeans etc....An AMAZING day. Thanks Gordy and Stafford for this day of many great memories. This has been another part of our Oklahoma Road Trip on my "Around the World by Train journey.Posted home.July 2013. Thank you Oklahoma ...I love you..!!
