CONFEDERATE GENERALS OF THE CIVIL WAR ( 1861 - 1865 )
General Robert E Lee's army was always , outnumbered, outgunned and more often than not in a poor position to attack or defend. Yet, General lee was a very practical strategist with an engineers sense and was always willing to take risks tyo out manoeuvre his apponents. The support of his excellent Commanders contributed to repeated victories against the Union army again and again.
But, eventually the Unions industrial base , replenishment abilities and Grants persistent and often brutal tactics prevailed. Three million fought six hundred thousand died and it was the only war fought on American soil by Americans and for that reason there has always been a big facination with the Civil war.
