Germany

Rugen : GERMANY.:

A welcomed card from  good friend travelling on the Baltic Sea Coast..The card shows various scenes of the  Hiddensee and the Baltic Coastline. Hiddensee is a car free Island in The Baltic Sea.and is located west of Germany's largest Island Rugen on the German coast. The Island has about 1300 inhabitants and was a very popular tourist destination for east German Tourists during the GDR times and attracts many tourists today. The Island also is the location for the University of Greifwalds Ornithological Station . In 1936 the Hiddensee  Bird Observatory was established on the Island.Due to waether conditions Hiddensee is one of the sunniest parts of Germany.
Thank you so much Birgit for remembering me on your travels. This looks like a lovely place to visit..
