A Unesco site I believe that here you can walk between the Eurasian and and the North American tectonic plates..!! The card shows a View from Pingvellir National ParkThis is an historically important area as it is the site of the "Original Parliament "(Almannagja) The Alpingi in the year 930. Geologically the area displays abundent evidence of Continental drift between the Eurasian and North American plates.The drifting has caused the many "fissures" and rifts in the valley floor some of them are water filledThank you Anaik for this fine and interesting card.
