Australia

Glen Innes : N.S.W.

This is another of the Celtic towns located here in this part of New England in the State of New South Wales. Located 670 kilometers north west of Sydney on The New England Highway this town is famous for its Celtic celebrations over the Easter period when many people gather from allover..also it is famous for its standing stones that are like the "Stone Circles" found in Britain and Britanny except that these are the only ones built outside of Europe in 3,500 years . This was an Australian BI- Centennial project ambitiously carried out by  a dedicated group to mark the the Celtic heritage of the Glen Innes area..Glen Innes is also famous for "fossicking" and that is, people looking for precious stones as the area has the most wonderful sapphires.
A great souvenir card from our visit here on our trip north.
