THE GLADESVILLE BRIDGE SYDNEY ..N.S.W. |
Gladeville: N.S.W. AUSTRALIA.
A good shot of The Gladesville Bridge here in Sydney close to where I live i use this bridge quite often to travel to the northern parts of the city.Located a few kilometers upstream from The Harbour Bridge This single arch bridge was constructed across the Parramatta River and was completed construction and opened in October 1964...and was then the largest single span concrete Bridge in the world. The dimensions are : Length: 580 meters ( 1. 900 feet ) Height :45 meters (148 feet ) Span :305 Meters ( 1000 feet).Linking the suburbs of Huntley Point and Drummoyne this concrete span bridge is one of three bridges built as part of the North Western Expressway and is the longest concrete span bridge ever constructed.
This is a recent first day release bridge series maxi cards by Australia Post.
