I relly like these surprise cards as they always bring a smile.. This card is from a friend in Kazakhstan and is of Saiga Antelope found mainly in Central Kazakhstan. Thank you Adil for this lovely wildlife card.Also for the lovely stamps.. Thank you.

The SAIGA ANTELOPE: .( Saiga Tatarica )
The Saiga Anelope is a critically endangered antelope that originally inhabited a vast area of the  Eurasian Steppe zone to the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains and Caucuses into Dzungaria and Mongolia. They also lived in Beringian North America in the Pleistocene period.Today the domnant sub species is only found in one location in Russia (in the Republic of Kalmikya ) and three areas in Kazakhstan (The Ural , Ustiurt and Betpak-Dala populations ) A proportion of the Estiurt population migrates south to Ubekistan  and occasionally Turkmenistan in the winter., it is now extint in the Peoples Republic of China.and southwest Mongolia ., it was hunted extensively in Roumani and Moldova until it became extinct in those regions in the end of the 18th Century. The Mongolian sub -species is only found in Western Mongolia.
