Rhode Islands official "nickname" is The Ocean State.a reference to the fact that the stae has several large bays and inlets that relate to about 14% of the total area. Narraganset is the major feature of the Staes topography. There are more than 30 islands within the bay .Providence is the capital of Rhode Island and the biggest city.
