Kalgoorlie : WA.    (Journey #2 )

The Exchange Hotel in Kalgoorlie Western Australia.
This is an iconic Aussie 'Pub" and is the watering hole for many hot and dry workers from the huge mining industry that is Kalgoorlie. The pub is not for the faint hearted with the barmaids wearing only thongs and are topless..and are very popular watering holes for the thirsty wealthy miners.
The Exchange Hotel is an ornate Victorian brick Hotel with very wide verandahs and built in 1900.The original Exchange Hotel was a much smaller timber and iron building which opened in 1894 as one of the first in the town then known as Hannans after a huge gold strike here. The town was later re named Kalgoorlie..
This card was a souvenir card I purchased at a stop here on the Indian Pacific Train journey across the country from east to west..I was on my way "Around the World by Train" journey.
