California State is located on the west coast of the United States it is the most populous US State  home to one out of eight people living there  ( 38 million people ) and is the third largest State by area after Alaska and Texas. California is bordered by Oregon to the north, Nevada to the east, Arizona to the southeast and The Mexican State of Baja California to the south it is home to the nations second and fifth most populous urban statistical areas being The Greater Los Angeles Area and the San Francisco Bay Area. California has eight of the most populous cities in the country with Sacramento being the Capital. California's diverse geography ranges from The Pacific Ocean Coast in the west to The Sierra Nevada in the east. To the Redwood, Douglas Fir Forrests in the northwest to The Mohave Desert areas in the south east.Almost half of the fruit grown in the US is harvested in California and the state is the leading vegetable producer in the country. Other important contributors to its economy is, Aerospace ,Education, Manufacturing, and Hi Tech Industries. If California was a country ? it would be 8th or 9th largest economy in the world and the 34th most populous. Largest city Los Angeles. Known as the" Golden State".
 Admitted into the Union on September the 9th  1850 and was the 31st.
