A lovely souvenir card that I chose to send of my visit to this rather lovely part of the world during my recent visit to Seattle Washington State. These ferries (ABOVE )are such an integral part of life here for the residents that live on Bainbridge Island not far offshore..I took one of these trips and visited the Island..A really pleasant day out..This was the start here in Seattle of my "Around the USA by Train" journey.. June -August 2013..The next part of my journey here is to catch 'The Empire Builder Service to Chicago IL. this is a long journey through a dozen states and already, early into the journey we are already five hours late after hitting a moose near Whitefish MT. Time lost while repairs are made to damaged hydraulic lines on the Locomotive engine..really like the double deck carriages and the elevated views from the observation cars...also the food ids excellent and reasonably priced..This card was posted home June 2013..Although arriving five hours late in Chicago none of that was down to the railroads efficiency
