This card shows the Monument commemorating The "Leyte Landing" of General Douglas McArthur where on October the 20th 1944his Forces starting liberating the Philippine Islands from the brutal Japanese occupation in WW II.. This was a a fulfillment of an earlier promise he made where he said " I shall return". This was a culmination of many different battles waged by the US and Allied Forces against the Japanese through the Pacific Islands from Australia to Japan. Thank you Chloe for this great swap card.
