Guernsey

Guernsey: CHANNEL IS. (UK ).:

This was a nice surprise to receive this lovely card yesterday in my mailbox.. The card shows the Island of Guernsey one of the Channel Islands and was a swap with a friend there ...nice cards..
Guernsey is a possession of The English Crown that lies off the coast of Normandy in France. Guernsey embraces not only all of the ten parishes on The Island of Guernsey, but also, The Islands of Alderney and Sark each with its own Parliarment and the smaller islands of Herm, Jethou ,and Lihou and although its defence is the responsibility of The United Kingdom..the Bailiwick is not part of the United Kingdom but rather a possession of the British Crown. it lies within the common travel area of The British Isles and is not a member of the European Union but has a special relationship with it , being treated as being part of The European Community for the purposes of free trade in goods. Togeather , The Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Bailiwick of Jersey are known as the Channel Islands.
Thank you so much Kathy for this great swap and also the lovely  Chinese Lunar New "Year of The Goat" (Guernsey Postal release. ) stamp. wonderful..
