George Washington served as the first President of The United States from 1789 - 1797 He is one of the "founding fathers" of the United States serving as President of the Constitutional Convention. Standing 555 feet tall and weighing in at 81,120 tons The Washington Monument is located on The National Mall in Washington DC.and is truly a wonderful monument.
