A really welcomed card from my friend in Tbilisi.. Thank you for this card Khatuna... The card shows the Cave city UPLISTSIKHE. 1st Century BC.. Which literally means "The Lords Fortress " (Georgian ) . Uplistsikhe is an Ancient rock hewn town in Eastern Georgia..some ten kilometers east of the town of Gori, Shida Kartii. Built on a high rocky left bank on the Mtkvari River it contains some very early structures dating from the very early iron Age to the late Middle Ages and is notable for the unique combinations of various styles of 'Rock Cut " culture from Anatolia and Iran and is noted for its co existence with Pagan and Christian architecture.
