Located in The Carribean , The island has an area of 439 KM2. with a Population of 277,821. The Capital City is Bridgetown. and only has 12 Post crossing members..This sovereign country is located in The Lesser Antilles and is the third oldest parliamentary democracy in the world. The name Barbados was originally known as "Los Barbados" Portuguese for "The Bearded One" which is derived from the bearded Fig Trees that were once found in abundance on the island. Mount Hillaby located in St. Andrew is the highest point on the Island at 343 Meters.This is also known as the land of the Flying Fish, flying fish being a common sight around the Island. The worlds oldest rum is produced in Barbados. Cricket is the most popular sport with Barbadians. Famous Barbadians are : Joel Garner, Rhianna, Jade Bailey, and Shonielle.
