LOKET  CASTLE.

Prague,: CZECH REPUBLIC.:

Another lovely Castle card..I find them quite amazing that so many of these wonderful structures still exist after so much turmoil in WWII..Thank you so Much Vera for this lovely castle card as you know I love castles...Also the lovely stamps that you have attatched...hugs for you ..and Thank you..

LOKET:: is a town of some 3,000 inhabitants in the Sokolov District of the Vary Region of Czech Republic. Loket means "elbow " in English. From 1938 -1945 it was one of the Municipalities in Sudetenland. The town got its name due to the town centre being surrounded on three sides Ohre River and the shape of the river is similar to the shape of an elbow .The town center itself features "LOKET  CASTLE" which is a 12th Century Gothic Castle. The Town Centre is a National Monument and as such is preserved from modern development.
