So good to see this "Greetings From" card of Slovakia in my mailbox.. another GF card for my collection thank you . These are great cards with "facts and figures of the countries that are posted from their origin.
SLOVAKIA. : has an area of 49, 035 KM2. and is located in Eastern Europe .and is an EU member.
POPULATION : of Slovakia. is 5,415,949.
CAPITAL CITY: is Bratislava. and language spoken is Slovakian.
SLOVAKIA : contains 9 large National Parks.
SLOVAKIA ; has 180 Castles and 425 Chateaux. Slovakia has the highest number of Castles and Chateaux in the world per capita of the population.
FAMOUS SLOVAKIANS: include Martina Hingis , Stefan Banic , Juaraj Janosik , Marian Hossa.
INVENTIONS: Stefan Banic constructed a prototype of a Parachute in 1913. This he tested in Washington DC by jumping from a buildings 41st floor in 1914.
CONSTRUCTION.: The highest wooden altar in the World stands 18.6 Metres High and is 6 Metres wide
The altar was made without the use of a single nail in its construction in the workshop of Master Pavol around 1508-1510.
CAVES: There are more than 6.000 caves in Slovakia and the most spectacular caves can be found in The National Parks of The Low Tatras Slovak Paradise and Slovak Karst.
MOUNTAINS.:Gerlach Peak is The highest mountain in The high Tatras, Slovakia and the whole Karpat Massive.and stands at 2,654.4 Meters.
