Indonesia

Irian Jaya: INDONESIA.:

This is another lovely wild life card showing the lovely "Spotted Cuscus" (Spilocuscus Maculatis ) known as The Common Cuscus  ( KusKus Tutal ) a marsupial found mainly in the Northern reaches of Australia in The Cape York region and also in New Guinea, Irian Jaya  Indonesia and some smaller nearby  Islands. The Common Cuscus is about the same size as a normal house cat weighing between 2 - 6 kilos with a body size of approximately 35 - 55 cms (14- 26 inches long ) and a long tail 32- 60 cms ( 13-24 inches long ).it has a round head and small hidden ears , thick fur and a prehensile tail to aid in climbing.the eyes range in colours from yellows to orange to reds and are slit much like a snakes eyes. All four of its legs have five digits and strong curved claws , except the first digit on each foot. The curled prehensile tail is a distinctive characteristic if the Common Cuscus. The upper part of the tail closest to the body is covered in fur while the lower half is covered in rough scales on the inside surface to grip branches. Thank you Mia for another lovely wildlife card.
