United States of America

Washington. DC

A different card from DC depicting Civil war scene re enactments.. Many historic battles just over the Potomac River into Virginia..This reflects on The Battle of  Manassas. They say that there were eleven separate motions were needed to fire a civil war musket . The 1860's regulation  specified that a trained soldier should fire three aimed shots per minute allowing 20 seconds per shot and less than two seconds per motion. It is estimated that between 8,000 and 10,000 bullets  were fired for every man killed at the bloody first battle of Manassas....amazing...Thank you so much for this card Deirdre as you know that I love this Civil War History..  Posted Washington DC 21 July 1998..Thanks again.
