Australia.

Australia:

The card depicts The Indian Pacific Train winding its way past the viaducts and through the Blue Mountains north of Sydney. The Indian Pacific is one of the Worlds great train journeys departing Sydney Central (on The Pacific Ocean ) and arriving  in Perth  (on the Indian Ocean ) nearly three days later after a journey of some 4,352 Kilometers taking 65 hours. This is truly one of the few train journeys that are truly trans continental..Along the trains route is The worlds longest stretch of straight railway track that is 478 kilometers (297 miles ) stretch of the Trans Australian Railway over the treeless Nullabor Plains
.In 1983 it was diverted to include Adelaide in its journey. Here now in Adelaide one can get off the Indian Pacific and join" The Ghan " which does the trans continental south to north from Adelaide to Darwin..another of the great railway journeys of the world..These are both great train journies and I have done them both when I went "Around the World by Train"
Thanks John for this card and I knew that you would love that trip. Posted 16 march 2009.
