The Chamois ( Rupicapra rupicapra tatrica ) is found in all parts of the Tatras Mountains in Slovakia and Poland. The species has undergone many highs and lows in its population  history and reached its Highest in the 20th Century in 1964 with a number of 940 being recorded in Slovak area of Tatras and the their numbers declined dramatically and known to bottom out at the turn of the century 1999 to 2000 the numbers reached  200 individuals ,  a number critical to the species survival..A five year programme to save the Tatra Chamois was begun in 2001 focussing on preserving the Chamois' environment especially during the mating season by strict regulation of tourism and curtailling poaching. The programme was successful as the population started to recover and after some ten years numbers have risen and are now the highest in recorded history..The highest population of the Chamois was recorded in 2014 when 1389 were recorded in the Tatras..great news..

What a great card of this American icon ..Will Rogers. Known as "Oklahoma's favourite son" Will Rogers was born to a prominent Cherokee Nation family in the Indian territory now known as Oklahoma. he traveled around the world three times , made 71 movies ( 50 silent movies and 21 talkies ) and wrote more than 4000 nationally syndicated newspaper columns. By the mid 1930's the American people adored Rogers.He was the leading political wit of his time and was the highest paid Hollywood Movie Star..Rogers died in 1935 with aviator and friend "Wiley Post "When their small plane crashed in Northern Alaska.

Another of the many cards just received from a good mate in Texas.. thank you so much for all these fine cards from the state of Texas..This card shows the Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio.The collections at Lackland Air Force Base including Aircraft equipment dating from WW 1 to current jet engines and aircraft displays"Gateway to the Air Force" aptly describes Lackland where many first airmen trained..

 A great card showing " The Wild Bunch "  On August the 13th 1896 Butch Cassidy and his gang held up the Montpelier Idaho Bank for $ 7,165 .00. This was the first robbery credited to Butch Cassidy and the "Wild Bunch " This Photograph was taken in Fort Worth Texas after robbing the Winnemucca Bank in Nevada..
