FAMOUS : The Oceanographic Museum in Monaco built in 1910 is one of MONACOs most popular attractions

GRAND PRIX.: The Monaco Grand Prix has been held annually since 1919 in the streets of Monaco. and is reputed to be the most prestigious automobile race in the world.

HISTORY : in 1297 The House of Grinald captured the fortress protecting the Rock of Monaco and has ruled Monaco with brief interuptions since then.

INDEPENDENCE : in 1824 Independence from the French Empire 

1861 The French Monogocque Treat recognised the sovereignty of Monaco.

SIZE :  Monaco is the second smallest country in the world.The smallest is the Vatican City.as Monaco's total area is only two square kilometers.
FLAG : The flag of Monaco is red and white and looks exactly the same as Indonesia's flag only the flag of Monaco is wider.
CASINO de MONTE CARLO. : is the cities biggest attraction however citizens are not allowed to gamble or even enter the casino.
FILMS.: more than 50 films have been made in Monaco including Iron Man IIand Madagascar.
GRAND PRIX. The Monaco Grand Prix has been run since 1929and is one of the most important and prestigious automobile races in the world.

 A special card has just arrived ...and thank you Caroline for thinking of me with this one.. Apparently from an au pair that worked for the Royal Family  some time back..a most unusual card..cheers..

 This is a card with a difference ..Thank you Rob for posting this from Monaco..know that you were rushed...What an amazing stamp..thanks for that you always pick great stamps for your cards..Stamp takes up half the card and shows Princess Grace receiving a Golden award..

 The Pricipality of Monaco is a sovereign State and a Micro State located in southern France on the "French Riviera." in Western Europe. The principality is bordered on three sides by France and is also bordered by the Meditteranean Sea. Monaco is the second smallest and the most densely populated state in the world.Monaco has a border of 4.4 kilometers  ( 2.7 miles ) and a coastline of 4.1 kilometers and   (2.5 miles ). The capital is Monte Carlo.. The country was brought into prominence when the Hollywood screen star Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier III..This is the second  of four Principalities that I have visited.
