Greetings from MALTA..  Tisilijiet min Malta. Republic of Malta.
MALTA : Covers an area of some 316 KM2.
POPULATION : of Malta is 445,426 inhabitants.
CAPITAL CITY : of Malta is Valetta.
 LOCATION: Malta is located in The Meditteranean sea.
UNIQUE : Described as an "Open air Museum" as very much of the past is visible today.
LANGUAGE :  The Maltese language is an ancient language comprised of Italian and Arabic with English, French, and German influences.
FAMOUS :  Maltas Megolithic Temples: The oldest free standing structures in the world , older than "Stonehenge" and The Pyramids of Egypt.
VALETTA : The capital of Malta was one of the most concentrated historical areas in the world tanks to the cities 310 monuments.
HISTORY.: The First settlers in Malta arrived in 5,200 BC mainly stone age hunters or Italian farmers from the Island of Sicily possibly the Sicani. The extinction of the dwarf hippos and the dwarf elephants has been linked to the earliest arrivals on Malta.
INDEPENDENCE: 21st September 1964 after intense negotiations with the United Kingdom.

Certainly a great place to visit..The card shows the many small yachts on the Harbour in Valetta with the sandstone city behind..... I really enjoyed my time there also

 This is a lovely aerial photo of Valetta Harbour , main port of Malta. This is one of Unesco's World Heritage Sites. Valetta was founded on March 28th 1566.Its magnificent network of Forts and fortifications extend over 27 kilometers and are a perfect example of Rennaissance Military architecture. The dignified Palaces and Churches built by the knights of St. Johnfrom an impressive architectonic complex that led it to being described as a "city built by gentlemen for gentlemen.."

 This is a fine view of Valetta , Capital of Malta.. A truly lovely Island That I had the good fortune to visit.  So wonderful to view from the water as I sailed around some of the Island and enjoyed its amazing old buildings and architecture.Valetta is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Valetta was founded on the28 March 1566  and its magnificent network of fortifications extend over 27 kilometers and are a perfect example of Renaissance  Military Architecture. The dignified Palaces and Churches built by the Knights of St. John form an impressive Architectonic that led it to be being described as a" City built by gentlemen for gentlemen." Stamp shows the Maltese Cross. Thank you for this card Sylvan a lovely card.

 A lovely multi- view card showing the many different places on this lovely friendly Island of Malta.  I really enjoyed my short five day stay here in which time I was so lucky to not only stay on a mates yacht.. but to sail a few days around the Island to get a different view from the sea.This is a lovely card I chose as souvenir from my visit here .
