Well this was surprise card and I get many..Thank you so much Rosmarie for sending this card on to me. another great Flags of the World card for my collection and one of many that are difficult to obtain,,thanks again.

GREETINGS from JERSEY.
JERSEY covers an area of some 118.2 KM2
POPULATION of Jersey is 100,080.
LOCATION.: in The Channel Islands
CAPITAL CITY of Jersey is Saint Hellier.
UNIQUE : to Jersey it that it has the largest tidal movements on earth. Rising and falling by an average of some 12 meters  (40ft.) with the islands landmass increasing by a third at low tide.
CARS; Jesrsey has the highest per capita of car owners in the world.
FAMOUS : The State of New Jersey in the USA  is named after the Island of Jersey as t was a gift from Charles11 for the Islands support during the  English Civil War.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Founded in 1768 . The first in The British Isles.
HISTORY : The last land battle fought on British soil was between the French and the Jersey Militia/ /Sottish Highlanders in The Royal Square in 1781
INDEPENDENCE : was atained on the 9th August 1965 from The Britis Empire and reamaining in the Commonwealth of Nations.

Alderney

Another great surprise card along with the others these last few days..I must once again thank Rosmarie for making this swap possible and I really appreciate this" Flag of the Wold" card from Alderney in The Channel Islands for my collection that is growing now.Thanks again my dear.

GREETINGS from ALDERNEY :

ALDERNEY : Covers an area of some 7.8 KM 2.
POPULATION  of Alderney is  2,020 inhabitants.
CAPITAL CITY :of Alderney is St.Anne.
LOCATION ; of Alderney is in the Channel Islands.
UNIQUE : Islanders are nick named "Lapins" after the many rabbits seen on the Island.
LES HUGUETTES : is a ring of dry stone wall with a diameter of 9 meters around the fire place and this is from 490 BC.
RAILWAY : The only working railway in The Channel Islands and it opened in 1847 and is one of the oldest rail lines in the British Isles and runs for 3.2 kilometers.
FAMOUS : Traffic : Alderney has a traffic speed limit of 35 MPH across the whole Island  ,  there are no traffic lights , no roundabouts , and never any traffic jams on Alderney.
 WILDLIFE : The blonde hedgehog found here is a sub species of the West European hedgehog.
 ISLAND  of Alderney is completely surrounded by rocks which has resulted in many ship wrecks.
HISTORY : Alderney has continually been inhabited for 5,000 years .Many Neolithic artifacts have been discovered on the Island
GOVERNMENT:  The Government of Alderney law 1948 came into force on January 1st 1949. The law organised the construction and election of the States of Alderney and the justice system and , for the first time in Alderney the imposition of taxes.

CAPITAL CITY of Guernsey is St.Peter Port.
LOCATION : of Guernsey is tin the Chanel Islands
UNIQUE to Guernsey is : The tidal range in Guernsey is 33 feet and is one of  the largest in the world transforming the coastline every six hours or so
WORLD RENOWNED : The Guernsey cow produces some of the worlds most delicious and rich dairy products because of the high butterfat and protein levels in the milk.
FAMOUS :  The novel "Les Miserables" was written by Victor Hugo during his exile in Guernsey.
BOOK : The book of Ebenezer Le Page is considered to be one of the finest books written by a Guernsey man and contains a wealth of insights into Guernsey life in the 20 th Century.
HISTORY : The Middle Ages saw the Island as a haven for pirates that would use the " Lamping Technique" to ground ships close to the coastal waters.
COURTS : The oldest courts of Guernsey can be traced back to the 9 th Century.
